Who are we?
We are an ongoing Partnership between academic researchers, obstetrical care providers, and patient partners with the shared purpose of bringing together BC’s expertise and resources for evaluating obstetrical care.
How did we get here?
To make sure that pregnant individuals receive the best care possible, we need to evaluate how the way in which we provide care – our obstetrical policies and practices – affects maternal and neonatal health.
We bring together BC’s expertise and resources and form a working Partnership of researchers, health care providers, and patient partners to co-identify research priorities for improving obstetrical health care in BC.
What are our goals?
- To create an ongoing Partnership of researchers, clinical care providers, and patient partners who will meet regularly to conduct collaborative obstetrical services research.
- To create a forum for obstetrical health services researchers to present findings from priority research projects.
- To improve health and health care services for pregnant individuals and newborns in BC by identifying policies and practices that reduce adverse health outcomes or improve health services delivery.
- To identify and provide health research training opportunities for students and trainees.
